CFP™ Certified Financial Planner™
The international financial planning designation administered in Canada by Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC). CFP licensees must meet the Council's standards in education, experience, examination and ethical procedures. A CFP licensee must also have 30 hours of continuing education every year to sustain their designation.
CLU Chartered Life Underwriter
The CLU is Canada’s premier wealth transfer and estate planning designation issued by The Institute for Advanced Financial Education. One who has passed exams given by The Financial Advisors Association of Canada ( Advocis) and who has been determined to be a financial planner with advanced knowledge in life and health insurance and employee benefits. They are required to a mandatory continuing education program of 30 hours of continuing education every year.
Leslie W. Dunstall Silver Medal Award Winner for New Brunswick
The Dunstalll Award is awarded by Advocis to the candidate in each province who achieves the highest examination marks for all CLU course subjects, to recognize the outstanding educational achievements of Advocis members. Leslie W. Dunstall, a past executive vice-president, was a member of the staff from 1919 to 1960.
CH.F.C. Chartered Financial Consultant
One who has passed advanced courses in retirement planning, financial planning, and wealth accumulation granted by the Financial Advisors Association ( Advocis ) in conjunction with the The American College. They are required to a mandatory continuing education program of 30 hours of continuing education every year.
TEP Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner
A designation granted through the ( STEP) Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. STEP is the leading international organization for trust and estate professional, and members are by definition the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field. Members are involved at all levels in planning, creating and managing, and accounting for trusts and estates, as well as executorship, administration and related taxes. A TEP designation holder must also have 30 hours of continuing education every year to sustain their designation.
Enhanced Lifestyle Planner
The Enhanced Lifestyle Planner Certification was developed by George Beshara, a Professional Trainer and Career Transition Consultant with more than 20 years of experience. The ELP is based on his lifestyle retirement planning program which has been used with more than 12,000 individuals in North America.
Certified Enhanced Lifestyle Planners have completed a certification training program and certification exam which was developed by George Beshara, President of North American Lifestyle Planning Corporation and the author the Managing My Life Series including Planning My Retirement.
